Track Legislation

Government Relations

TRVA and Gov Rick PerryTRVA is legislatively, as active as any RV association in the country. We take a very strong position toward legislative awareness and planning through the Government Relations Committee. The Association retains a dynamic and aggressive lobbying firm in Austin that monitors all Texas legislation. The TRVA lobbyists often draft and oversee the successful introduction of legislative bills at TRVA’s direction. Through a variety of resources, TRVA keeps watch over any and all legislation to ensure that everything possible is done to protect and promote the interests of its membership.

Because of the proactive position the association has established over the past years, TRVA has enjoyed significant success at the State Capitol. Within the last three years, TRVA was instrumental in eliminating the discriminatory property tax on Travel Trailers, eliminated the Diesel Surcharge Tax on new and used diesel motorhomes, establishing Texas as a RV Friendly State and defeating numerous pieces of legislation that would have been threatening to the well being of the Texas RV industry. Most importantly, TRVA has establish a presence and reputation at the Capitol as an association that cannot be ignored and as an association to be reckoned with. TRVA no longer will be a victim, as we will continue to be vigilant and an outspoken voice for the RV industry.

All of this is possible because of the tremendous involvement of the TRVA members and because of their financial commitment to the legislative process.
